Anyway...
In the last 5 years I’ve changed my hair color multiple times. Mostly “traditional” hair colors. Recently, I dyed my hair a Noticeable Non-Traditional color.
Here’s what I’ve learned and why I’m glad I did it, even though it’s a little crazy.
- Hair grows – if it turns out bad, oh well it’s not really that important.
- I’m more confident – you kind of have to be when you have screaming red-ish purple-ish mermaid hair.
- I’m more aware of how I present myself.
- I’m proud of myself for having the guts to stand out and try something outside my comfort zone.
- People who know me, don’t treat me any differently.
- I interact with more people. I’ll grin at someone who looks at me like I’m crazy. People silently approve and give me a head/chin nod and I nod back. People will talk to me just because my hair is an obvious place to start a conversation. My hair is noticeable, and I’m okay with that.
I’m not rebellious, my hair is healthy, it hasn’t changed an unexpected color (yet), people still take me seriously, no regrets.
