So this isn't about books

So, it's been about 5 months since my first post. I'll admit I sort of forgot about this. Well, I've been writing more for work so it's not like I haven't been writing at all.

Anyway...

In the last 5 years I’ve changed my hair color multiple times. Mostly “traditional” hair colors. Recently, I dyed my hair a Noticeable Non-Traditional color.

Here’s what I’ve learned and why I’m glad I did it, even though it’s a little crazy.
  1. Hair grows – if it turns out bad, oh well it’s not really that important.
  2. I’m more confident – you kind of have to be when you have screaming red-ish purple-ish mermaid hair.
  3. I’m more aware of how I present myself.
  4. I’m proud of myself for having the guts to stand out and try something outside my comfort zone.
  5. People who know me, don’t treat me any differently.
  6. I interact with more people. I’ll grin at someone who looks at me like I’m crazy. People silently approve and give me a head/chin nod and I nod back. People will talk to me just because my hair is an obvious place to start a conversation. My hair is noticeable, and I’m okay with that.

I’m not rebellious, my hair is healthy, it hasn’t changed an unexpected color (yet), people still take me seriously, no regrets.

Here's to Brightly Colored Hair!
